Cynthia

This is Cynthia. When I first acquired her from my local grocery superstore, I was unaware of who she was, or why she even really attracted me in the first place. Sure, her leaves are a very dark, rich green; with her luscious red fruit beautifully contrasting her foliage- but there is something more to her that I have found over time. As I brought her to my college apartment/dormitory, I decided to place her in our living room. I really found her to belong there, for some strange reason. Not by my bed, or my desk, not in my kitchen or in the bathroom- the living room.  This is the place where friends gather to talk, relax, think, enjoy themselves, and the last room of the house one sees before departing to class. She has sat there for a week or so now, and already I have begun to wrap my mind around her role in our household. Fertility is her gift to my roommate family- she shows us the beautiful growth that can occur through patience and diligence. She has grown to be somewhat of a mother figure in our dorm of all boys, quietly sitting there looking over us all, blessing us with this breath of life she adds to our home. I hope to care for her for a very long time, just as she as shown for us.
